Avonbridge Care Home is situated on the banks of the River Avon, next to the historic bridge from which the home takes its name. Being only a short distance from the centre of Hamilton the home is in the midst of a lively community. It is thought of as a community within the community. Representatives from local churches and schools are regular visitors to the home. Due to the open visiting policy and families are free to visit the home at any time recognising, of course, the protected meal times.
Avonbridge is arranged over two floors, with the communal living areas on the lower floor and bedrooms predominantly on the upper floor. There is a designated relatives room on the top floor.
Residents and visitors can enjoy the grounds with an enclosed courtyard and beautiful secure gardens.
Nearby is Chatelherault Country Park with accessible, pleasant walks and the scenic Clyde Valley is a short drive away.
Avonbridge Care Home has its own mini bus and offers a full activity programme as well as beauty treatments, a hairdressing salon and outings to local attractions whenever possible.
From the manager
“We offer first class care for the elderly on a permanent or respite basis, delivered by highly trained professionals in lovely comfortable surroundings. Our philosophy is simple; we want everyone to enjoy life to the full. We never forget that all our residents are individuals and we treat them with dignity, privacy and respect while offering freedom of choice and as much independence as possible. Friends and family are welcome at any time. Hot drinks and snacks are always available to all. Our cook prepares three nutritious meals a day and the menu changes regularly to reflect seasonal produce. Special diets are catered for. Residents have freedom to choose what to do and when. There is plenty going on and our activities coordinator puts together a full programme which is adapted to suit the needs and wishes of our residents. Activities include quizzes, sing-alongs, reminiscence therapy, indoor games, art and craft, baking and wherever possible, trips out and about. I’d love to show you around the home. So if you should like a tour, or wish to discuss any aspect of elderly care with me, please telephone the home to make an appointment. Yours sincerely Michelle Ruiz- Beltran”
