Deanwood Manor is a large 50 bedded home that specialises in care for people living with dementia who require specialist nursing care. The home is situated in beautiful grounds with secure garden areas as well as large garden areas for people to access with escorts.
All rooms are for single occupancy although a couple of rooms can be used for couples, who would then be able to use another room as a private lounge. There are several lounge and dining areas situated around the home as well as the homes own pub! The home also has a fully equipped hairdressing salon. An activity organiser is employed to engage residents in meaningful activities and to encourage residents to become involved in outings and events within the home.
All residents are treated as individuals and the staff focus on what they can do for themselves, and not on what they can no longer do. The home promotes independence, dignity and respect, through positive risk taking and empowerment.
Our qualified nurses are on hand 24 hours a day to provide a high standard of care, they are supported by a well-trained and dedicated team of carers and support staff. The manager operates an open door policy to discuss any issues or concerns from any residents and/or relatives. Our catering team are on hand every day to ensure that the nutritional requirements of all our residents are met, with all special diets catered for. Our chefs come and meet all our residents to discuss meal choices, likes and dislikes.
Our philosophy of care states that attention to detail is the difference and all our staff are willing and able to go the extra mile.
