Welcome to Bluebell Nursing Home!
With us, your loved one will be cared for by some of the best carers in Portsmouth. The team has over 40 years of experience in caring for those with complex health needs such as dementia and sensory impairments. Bluebell holds an “Outstanding” rating in the Well-Led category, a testimony to its deeply personal approach.
Knowing that your loved one is safe and well-cared for is such a relief, which is why Bluebell also receives residents for short stays (respite care). When you need a well-deserved break from your caring responsibilities, we are here to look after your loved ones like you would.
Whether respite or nursing care, urgent or planned, we are here to accommodate all your requests. Call us today on 02392 823104 to have all your questions answered.
Located just a stone’s throw away from the iconic Canoe Lake, Bluebell Nursing Home accommodates up to 49 residents at once. A well-established and friendly team of 75 staff supports the home.
The team creates care plans that suit each resident’s support needs, skills, aspirations, and safeguarding requirements. Throughout the year we host events, themed nights, and activities to stimulate and engage our residents and our chef prepares foods from across the world for these occasions.
The team specialises in creating personalised engagement and support for residents with Dementia. The home operates a unique Staff Champions Programme, which helps everyone in the team to give and receive advice, share expertise, and stay up to date in the field of specialised care. The team will not only cater to your loved one’s physical needs but also learn all about your loved one and create opportunities for positive reminiscence.
Our facility is charming, convenient, and easily accessible by public transport. The home has a lounge and separate dining areas. The entire facility is adjusted for people with Dementia, with specific furniture and wall decorations. The locality perfectly suits those who enjoy a peaceful lifestyle. Our residents love the warmer seasons when they can sit in the garden, in the crisp sea breeze, and listen to the birds in our outdoor aviary.
In short, Bluebell is your loved one’s new family home on the Southsea beach.
From the manager
“Hi, I am Stacey Parkhill! I have worked in the Care sector since 2004, and have worked for Bluebell since 2007. I started as a care assistant completing my level 3 in Health and Social Care and progressing to senior carer. In 2018 I achieved my level 5 in Leadership for Health and Social Care, and taking on a role as Training Officer more recently, where I gained more experience. I am delighted at the opportunity of a managerial role, and with my extensive knowledge of Bluebell and our residents I continue to be an asset to our team. My vision for Bluebell is continue to provide a high standard of care for all our residents and to facilitate training opportunities for our compassionate and incredibly committed carers and staff.”
