Considered by many to be the home of choice in the Winchester and Southampton areas – Challoner House offers high quality nursing, residential and dementia care in an unrivalled setting located in the lovely village of Chandlers Ford, and on one of the main bus routes into out and of Southampton and beyond.
The warmth of welcome from our team of staff can be felt the minute you step foot into our lovely nursing home. With their help and the help of the ladies and gentlemen who live with us – we really do offer a home from home. Our team provides a high level of care all the time and every time with a caring and person centred attitude. We ensure the ladies and gentlemen who live with us feel safe and comfortable – they are ‘cared about’ as well as ‘cared for’. Our nursing care philosophy is based on the use of personalised care plans. Drawn up with the individuals we support and their families our care plans will help ensure that each person we look after is treated with respect and that their independence and choice are maximised.
Our passion for our home can be seen in everything we do - in our cooking, hospitality, housekeeping and, of course, in organising activities for our residents. Activities make up the most important part of all our days and at Challoner House we ensure we provide a variety that reflects the interests and capabilities of all the ladies and gentlemen we support. We make full use of the home’s mini bus and being located so close to the M3 in minutes we can be enjoying the beautiful surrounding countryside. We have several regular group sessions – but perhaps our most popular – certainly with the ladies, are our regular pamper sessions!
Our beautifully landscaped award-winning gardens allow our residents to enjoy a high standard of outdoor living in the summer months. One of our residents recently reached the final of a nationwide competition which involved all Barchester homes and he came back winner of the resident’s garden category! We could not be prouder of him!
