Welcome to Hartley House Residential Home! We are located in Cranbrook, Kent, and have been serving the local community for over 30 years. Our residents live as independently as possible while receiving the right care within a safe environment in their later years.

Hartley House is just a few minutes away from the famous Union Mill and St. Dunstan’s Church, which houses the prototype of Big Ben. We can accommodate more than 50 people. All our rooms are spacious, well-ventilated, and have views onto the gardens.

Throughout the year, we host events, themed nights, and activities to stimulate and engage our residents. Our chef prepares foods from across the world for these occasions. Five full-time housekeeping staff run an efficient cleaning service 7 days a week.

The facility is split into four wings – Hardy, Camden, Sackville, and Harris. This structure allows for individual care and attention to be given in small groups. There are separate lounges and dining rooms in each wing, and each has their own kitchenette. This wing concept makes the home feel smaller than it is, but the residents can choose to stay in their wing or can move to other wings to be with friends and participate in different activities.

The home was extended in October 2013 by JHD Architects, led by Tim Ball. The stunning new rooms and lounge are quite popular with residents and guests alike. These include state-of-the-art features, shower facilities, and dementia specific furniture. The new enclosed courtyards are easy to access and offer a safe way for residents and their visitors to indulge in gardening or just enjoying the sunshine.

The modern facility, the great staff and service, and friendly residents, are what makes Hartley House such a feel-good home.

Our resident’s health and safety are of utmost importance to us. Our personalized care ensures that your loved one will always be well-groomed and safe, mentally and emotionally stimulated, and socially engaged. We constantly review our care plans to ensure that we are meeting the agreed outcomes. The home is always secured, and all the exits are alarmed. We take fire risks seriously and practice our fire drill every week. As an ISO 9001-accredited organization, we pride ourselves on achieving consistently high standards of safety, health, and wellbeing for our residents.
