Oxbow Manor care home provides tailored care in luxurious surroundings, including permanent and short-term residential, nursing and specialist dementia care.
The home is divided into suites – collections of bedrooms with a dining room and lounge. Creating smaller communities makes it easier for residents to get to know each other and keeps hustle and bustle to a minimum. The home also has a café, cinema room and a hair and beauty salon, as well as extensive gardens and outdoor spaces.
The friendly team runs various group and personalised one-to-one activities. If your loved one wants to continue attending a local church or club, or perhaps they want to go out to enjoy a pub lunch or shopping trip, the team will support them to do so.
From the manager
“I have worked for Care UK for most of my adult life, starting out as a healthcare assistant and progressing to my current role as Home Manager. With encouragement from colleagues, I also completed my nursing degree as a mature student. Being able to work my way up and gain my qualifications (which also include NVQs in health and social care and leadership and management) has been a huge achievement for me and a big career highlight. In this role, you need to be able to communicate well and have strong leadership and planning skills. Working as a team also means you have to be good at motivating people. It is also important to have a good grasp of budgets, and it is essential to be clear about safeguarding policies and procedures. The work we do really does make a difference and that fills me with immense pride. It feels great when we get positive feedback from relatives who can see their loved ones are receiving the quality care they need. My favourite part of the day is the time I’m able to spend having a coffee, cake and a chat with residents. Seeing everyone get along well and share special moments really does brighten up each day. Outside of work, I love to travel and spend time with my children and grandchildren.”
