From the manager

“My name is Simon, and I am the new home manager at Buckingham Lodge. I am originally from Lancashire but moved to Buckinghamshire at the age of 18 years. I have spent all of my career working in adult social care, mainly in the charitable and not-for-profit sector. I’ve worked across all of the different care sectors, and I believe I have gained a good understanding of the issues that people in our care experience, as well as an appreciation of how daunting it must be to move from the family home into residential care. The thought that I am in the privileged position of being able to influence and have a positive impact on people’s lives is very motivating and rewarding for me. I am also passionate about supporting our staff to develop and to achieve to the best of their ability. If we have a happy and engaged staff team, we should have happy, well cared for residents and a happy home – everyone matters! If we can put each individual at the centre of all that we do, we can ensure that our residents are fully involved in all of our decision-making processes, enabling us to deliver care and support that is as individual as they are. I look forward to meeting you soon.”
