Welcome to Asra House Residential Care Home situated in Leicester’s ‘Golden Mile’. Our unique home caters for individuals who live an Asian lifestyle.
The care team, who won the ‘Care Home Team’ award in the 2018 Great British Care Awards, speak a combination of Gujarati, Hindi, Punjabi, Benghali, Swahili and English.
At Asra House, we embrace, celebrate and support the cultural beliefs of all residents. The home features an Islamic prayer room and a multi-faith Hindu temple. Residents are also supported in visits to external places of worship including local Mosques, Temples or Gurdwaras.
A number of Religious festivals are celebrated within the home, including Eid, Diwali, Ram Navmi and Maha Shivarati. Festival celebrations include traditional music, dance and delicious food!
Residents can enjoy home cooked Asian cuisine every day, from curries and daal dishes to samosas and chapattis. Our chefs regularly make chutneys from fresh peaches, mango and chili and some homemade sweet treats for dessert.
Daily menus are available in English and Gujarati. Most residents are vegetarian, so meat dishes are prepared in a separate kitchen. All resident’s laundry is washed separately.
