A Warm Welcome to Riverside Court Care Home in Maryport

Riverside Court Care Home has a family-friendly atmosphere situated on the site of Maryport’s historic docks, and offers a range of care types including nursing care and respite care.

We are next to Ismay Wharf on the marina, and walking distance from both the town and public transport, making us easily accessible for visitors to pop-in for a chat.

Our service at Riverside Court in Maryport has been inspected as GOOD in all areas and OUTSTANDING in Responsive, with the inspectors commenting: “The entire team put people at the heart of the service delivery. People received care that was individually planned to meet their unique needs. People were very engaged in activities both within the home and in the local community. The service was creative and innovative in supporting people to actively access interests and activities that were important to them.”

Day to day activities are based on our current resident interests and include:

  • Yoga, Mindfulness & Meditation Sessions
  • Knitting Club
  • Engaged with our local community to help residents maintain community links
  • Beautiful location to visit with friends and family

Our purpose-built home offers beautiful views of the marina and out to sea. We also have sensory gardens, which we have found to greatly benefit our residents. Our gardens are also perfect places for our residents and their loved ones to spend time together.

Our Care at Riverside Court Care Home

We are rated Good overall by CQC and have been rated OUTSTANDING in ‘Responsive’.

We offer a person-centred approach that is delivered through quality care, recreation and activities, and food and dining. A relative of a loved one in our home praised: “All staff are lovely and helpful. From management, carers, kitchen staff and cleaners are all amazing. I always feel welcome”

In 2023 we supported over 230 families with their care enquiry to the team at Riverside Court. A recent visitor commented after their visit: “All staff are courteous friendly and willing to help residents in any way they can!”

Inspectors commended:

“Staff were caring and committed to supporting people in ways which upheld their dignity. Staff communicated well with people and respected their decisions. People felt comfortable when staff supported them with their personal care. Staff were extremely motivated and proud to work at the service. We found an open ethos with a clear vision and values which were put into practice by staff.”

“The team excelled in providing compassionate and dignified end of life support. Staff received training around palliative care and worked towards a nationally recognised accreditation in end of life care. This meant they aimed to provide outstanding and innovative person-centred end of life care based on current best practice.”
