Dovehaven Lodge has introduced a specialist care service, specifically for males with complex behaviours associated to living with dementia, mental health or other acquired issues.
This specialist male only care service is staffed with experienced and trained team, ensuring staffing levels are appropriately high, delivering responsive, compassionate and professional care. New residents will be moved to Elm House in a carefully managed transition, with individual needs supported by additional care and assistance for the first 6 weeks beyond their move in date.
Elm House is a self-contained within a larger purpose built home. Within this dedicated care environment, all accommodation is on the ground floor and offers a well maintained, safe, secure and accessible garden. With wide corridors, Elm House is spacious, open and all bedrooms and communal areas are designed specifically to promote comfort and familiarity, while adapted to suit more complex health needs. Elm House has a designated visitor ‘pod’, which is very easily accessible for both residents and visitors
All Dovehaven Lodge houses have a pretty landscaped gardens & patios, which are perfect spots to spend time with friends and family. The bright comfortable bedrooms & living areas are all easily accessible by wheelchair.
The Dovehaven Lodge care team create a family atmosphere encouraging everyone to eat and celebrate special occasions together. Daily life is thoughtfully designed to support mind body and soul.
At Dovehaven Lodge we pride ourselves on making mealtimes a special stimulating part of each day as well as enjoying a nutritional diet. Eating is a social experience & our dining rooms are designed to create a relaxed and happy atmosphere. We make a point of celebrating birthdays & special occasions – from Valentines Day to Ascot Ladies Day, as well as world festivals such as Chinese New Year & the Indian Holi Festival.
Dovehaven Lodge’s extensively trained team deliver all nursing, specialist care and support services that each loved one requires. The home encourages suggestions from family members that might make residents stay with us that little bit more enjoyable.
The staff and residents at Dovehaven Lodge enjoy playing an important part in their local community. The home runs a weekly programme of events which are fun for everyone. Performers from the local area regularly visit & entertain residents with songs, sketches, singing & dancing. Many residents take pleasure in hobbies including baking, writing, gardening, dancing, painting, quizzes and playing chess. At Dovehaven Lodge we understand that simple pleasures are important such as the morning walk, feeding the birds, a light little weeding, baking cakes & arranging flowers.
